Sarita Acriche Tani, October 10, 1915 – March 22, 2009. Born in Manila, Philippines in 1915, Sarita Acriche Tani began her family life when she married Jack Tani in 1941. When Japan invaded the Philippines, Sarita, Jack and their first two children, Morris and Susie, fled their home and spent their time in bomb shelters. Sarita did her part in the war effort, taking advantage of the fact that she was nursing Susie to clean the wounds of injured family members. She was also an industrious person, using the parachutes of American soldiers to sew clothes for the family. After the war, their third child, David was born. In addition to her time with her family, Sarita was active in her synagogue where she volunteered for many years. Sarita immigrated to the U.S. in 1981, where she spent her time enjoying her passions of sewing, crocheting, orchids, telenovelas, her six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and her dog, Daisy. Sarita was a quiet soul with a loving heart. She never asked for much, but would give her friends and family the world. Graveside services for Sarita Tani will be held at the Home of Peace Cemetery, 6200 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, Tuesday, March 24th at 10:00 AM. |
